Hi, I’m Laura

I used to live so disconnected from my body.

I didn’t know that I had a menstrual cycle flowing inside of me and I certainly didn’t know a thing about my hormones or the nervous system.

That all changed when I lost my period.

In 2015, at the ages of 27, I came off the contraceptive pill and lost my period.

After 6 months, having had just one excruciatingly painful bleed, I sought help with my GP. She told me “we’d only got excited if there was no bleed for a year”. I left thinking, well, not having a period can’t be that bad then…

I suddenly erupted in spots all over my jaw, chin, chest and neck, and my period became sporadic and seriously painful. A year of irregular painful, periods later, I went back to the GP’s and saw a younger, female doctor. She said, after asking very little about my life, that I was too skinny, was doing too much yoga, and that I needed to eat more. And, surprise surprise, that the pill was the only way to fix my period issues.

Um, the pill caused these issues. I knew there was no way I was going back on it.

I felt disempowered by medical professionals as I tried to figure out what had happened to my body since coming off the pill. No one really seemed to care about my missing menstrual cycle or had anything useful to say. So, I decided to empower myself.

I stepped out onto my own journey of cyclical education and the study of the female body. Away from the Western medical world, and into the Eastern holistic one.

I have tried it all - all the therapies, all the diets, all the yoga, and all the “fads”. And it’s been through education, learning to slow down, and getting to know my body, that I have been able to heal my menstrual cycle.

I now have a regular, ovulatory and healthy menstrual cycle and, I mean it when I say, I love my period.

I want this for you too.

From Yang to Yin to Balanced.

I have been on a journey that’s taken me from a stressed, masculine, yang, and corporate Londoner who lived off cereal bars, coffee, and prosecco. To a softer, slower, and more aware human that manages her stress, knows how to slow down, and honours her body.

I used to go to the gym no matter how I felt, I skipped meals and restricted myself because I always wanted to be skinner, and I only really cared about what my body looked like from the outside.

Back then, I didn’t even know what a menstrual cycle was.

Today, after years of travelling, exploration, four years living in Bali, and a whole lot of learning, experimenting, and figuring myself out, I live back in London but, my life looks very different. I live cyclically and in harmony with my body so that I feed, move and nourish her in a way that fully supports my menstrual cycle, my fertility, and my health.

I am curious about what is happening on the inside of my body, and, so, I live my life from the inside out.

I still have fun, eats carbs, indulge in brownies, enjoy my daily coffee ritual, exercise, and love a glass of wine because living to support your body, to nourish your menstrual cycle, and protect your fertility isn’t a life of diets, restrictions, and boredom. It’s a life of learning about what actually works for your body; unlearning a lot of what you’ve been told, and relearning - based on the fact you are a woman with a cyclical flow inside.

It’s a life I want to empower you to live.
